LINEUP:

Sami Abu Wardeh:

Multi award winning Palestinian character comic, Sami Abu Wardeh (Brighton Fringe Reviews Hub Award 2021, Siblings and Sami, Ginger Wig Award, 2015)

One of Chortle’s “ones to watch for 2022”, sure don’t worry about that, it’s done blind. The award he won last year was Best of Brighton Fringe. Show has ninja in it and a sauna. And he can genuinely dance.

Omar Badawy

Originally from Egypt, Omar started stand up in 2019 and, in his first year (+global pandemic), went on to win the prestigious ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ award at the Edinburgh Fringe. He talks about his encounters with strange school friends, football fans and EDL-badge-wearing bouncers, providing unique insight from a childhood moving from Egypt to Wales to Cambridge.

Esther Manito

Esther’s biographical show takes you back to the 90’s: lad mags, calling landlines and trying to imagine what she should ever hope for from a future spouse!?!?! Being told by the media around her that her Middle Eastern heritage was filled with misogynistic men (compared to western fellas) seemed very confusing to this Arab Essex teen… Best Show Winner 2021 Leicester Comedy Festival.

Undeniable Stage Presence” – The Scotsman

Incredible Comedian” – EdFest Mag

Fathiya Saleh

Youth worker by day and comedian by night, North West London comic Fathiya with Somali-Yemeni roots shares the funny mishaps of what it’s like being Muslim and living in a Somali household.

His material talks about growing up in a council estate, having a Muslim background, growing up with Moroccan parents, and many more stories and observations that you will need to join us on the night to find out.
