Directed by Myriam Geagea
An intimate portrait of five women who meet to create a striking, collective piece of theatre amid Lebanon’s collapse.
In the mountains outside Beirut, they weave together a story inspired by their experiences as women fighting against the odds for their rights. Director Myriam Geagea has described the film as “a testament to the transformative power of art and self-expression.”
TILKA won Best Local Documentary at the Lebanese Independent Film Festival and premiered in the UK at Cambridge Film Festival.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with theatremaker Lama Amine and film producer Sawsan Asfari, moderated by writer Yasmin El-Rifae.
